Pardon our progress
The renovation and expansion of Glass Hall will not be complete until fall 2017. Therefore, during the coming year there will be several active construction zones throughout the building. We ask that you pardon our progress and remain patient. Pay attention to all signage and construction barriers. DO NOT enter areas that are closed, taped off, or clearly hard hat only zones.
Please allow for extra time when visiting Glass Hall for classes or appointments. During the year, certain hallways or exterior entrances may be closed. You will find closure information on this page, so please check back often.
Spring 2017 Information
Entrances and Exits
There will be three available entrances and exits to Glass Hall. You may enter on the northwest corner near Blue lot 20 and the soccer and track stadium, on the southwest near the Citizen Scholar statue, or on the south side, via the ramp sidewalk, using the center doors near the Business Advisement Center.
Elevators, Stairwells and Emergency Exits
Elevators will be operational on both the north and south sides of the building during the spring 2017 semester.
Both stairwells on the west end (the same side as Strong Hall) of the building are fully functionable and are available to use on all floors, 1-4. The stairwells on the east end (across from Meyer Library) are closed for the spring 2017 semester.
The new northeast (NE) stairwell is available for emergency use only. On floors 2, 3, and 4, if you exit into what was the NE stairwell, you will see signs directing you to the new stairwell (constructed just north of the old stairwell). Those using the NE stairwell in an emergency, will travel to the 1st floor and then follow a well-marked evacuation path through the new building and then onto John Q Hammons Parkway.
All classrooms and offices are clearly labeled. Please be patient and look for signs. If you are lost, visit the nearest departmental office and ask for assistance.
Business Advisement Center, Career Services and Graduate Programs Office
The Business Advisement Center has not moved and is in the same location on the first floor off of the main center hallway. Note: The BAC is expected to move to temporary offices on the 2nd floor in late February.
The Career Center will be relocating to Carrington Hall beginning January 27th.
The Graduate Programs Office has also relocated from the 2nd floor to Glass 427.
Glass Hall will be closed every weekend to allow for construction progress. Please plan accordingly. You may utilize study areas and computer labs across the street in Meyer Library or within other buildings on campus. Student organizations, study groups, or other constituent groups will not be allowed to reserve space within Glass Hall on weekends.
