George Krull

After his Grant Thornton LLP retirement in 2000, George served as an Executive-in-Residence and Professor of Accounting at Bradley University, where he was granted Emeritus status. More recently, George served the accounting academy as interim Chair or Head of Accounting at the University of North Texas (2015-2016), Saint Louis University (2016-2017), and Oklahoma State University (2017-2018), respectively. George’s research interests include accounting education, auditing methodologies and professional judgement, analytical procedures, and strategy and policy for higher education in business and accounting.

George remains active with the academic and professional accounting communities. In October 2016, he completed seven years’ service as a Trustee, President and immediate Past-President of the AICPA’s Foundation. In February 2017, he completed five years’ service as a member of the AICPA’s National Commission on Diversity and Inclusion.

He was one of four founding members of the Sponsoring Group of the Pathways Commission – the National Commission on Accounting Education to chart a national strategy for the next generation of accountants. 

George was a member of the 2011-2013 AACSB International’s Blue Ribbon Committee on Accreditation Quality, the 2017-2018 AACSB Accounting Accreditation Standards Revision Task Force, has served four terms on the AACSB’s Accounting Accreditation Committee, and two terms as a member of its Accounting Accreditation Policy Committee. He serves on several university business and accountancy advisory boards.

He graduated with an undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degree from The Ohio State University, Oklahoma State University and Michigan State University, respectively.
