Is a workshop required in order to attend the fairs?

Yes, all COB students must complete the required COB Prepare for the Fair workshop.

There will be no workshop waivers granted for the fall 2019 Accounting and/or Business Career Fair. All students who wish to attend the fall 2019 Accounting and/or Business Career Fair must attend a Prepare for the Fair workshop, regardless of when they last attended a workshop.

How do I access information about employers attending the fair(s)?

The College of Business will implement a new app interface to help students prepare and navigate the Accounting and/or Business Career Fair. Career Fair Plus is available for free download on the App Store and Google Play. More details will be shared during the Prepare for the Fair Workshops.

Are classes cancelled on fair days?

Classes are not cancelled for the Accounting Career Fair.

All College of Business classes are cancelled for the Business Fair between the hours of 9:00 a.m.–1:59 p.m. Any classes meeting at 8:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. or later will be in session.

What do I wear to the fair?

There is an official professional attire dress code for participation in either Fair.

A COB Suit Scholarship is also available for a limited number of participants with demonstrated financial need. Limited funding is available each year and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

What if I’m not a business, economics or computer science major?

This fair is specifically designed to connect business, economics and computer science students with employers searching for those precise majors.  At this time students pursuing a business minor without a business major will not be granted admission. We encourage all students to attend the MSU Career Expo held in the spring semester and to utilize the many services offered within the MSU Career Center.

What if I am a College of Business alum?

You are welcome to attend the fairs however you must request entry by emailing Mary Grace Phillips, Special Event Coordinator at  The deadline to request attendance as an alumni is Friday, September 6.
